Admission to Nursery
There is a waiting list for the Nursery and as places are limited it is important to put your child’s name down as soon as possible. Please complete the form at the office which registers your interest but is not a guarantee of a place. When a child is offered a place at Nursery, the key worker – a member of school staff will contact you to arrange to meet at home so that they can get to know you and your child. You and your child will them be invited to school to be given information about the start date and what the children will be learning during their time in Nursery. You are welcome to make an appointment to visit Nursery to see the provision and speak to staff prior to the home visit.
Children attending a school’s nursery are not guaranteed a place in the reception class and a separate application must be made t o the Local Authority as outlined below.
Admission to Reception and in-year admissions
The arrangements for the admission of children into the reception year are made by the Admissions Team in the Local Authority who also deal with in-year applications and the appeals process. The Admissions Team can be contacted directly on 01274 385967 or at firstname.lastname@example.org
For Community Primary Schools including Bradford Moor the admission policy is:
Where the number of preferences for a school exceeds the number of places available, priority will be given to children in the following categories:
1 Looked after children or children who were previously looked after but ceased to be so because they were adopted or became subject to a residence or special guardianship order.
2 Sisters and brothers of children living at the same address, who are at present on roll at the school, and will still be attending the school at the time of admission (siblings).
3 Other children.
When demand exceeds places in any of the above criteria, the distance between the child’s home and school, measured by a straight line distance from the Ordinance Survey address point of the home to the main entrance to the school building, will be used to decide who is given a place, those living nearest being given the available places.
